How to Share a PDF Online as a Link (No Email Attachment)

Stop attaching PDFs to emails. Here's how to share any PDF as a clean, browser-viewable link in seconds.

Email attachments are clunky. They get blocked by spam filters, inflate inbox sizes, and force the recipient to download a file before they can even read it. There is a much better way to share a PDF: send a link.

How it works

Upload your PDF to TiniDrop. You get back a short URL. Paste that URL anywhere — email, Slack, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, a website, a QR code on a poster. The recipient clicks the link and the PDF opens directly in their browser with a full inline viewer. No download required.

Real-world use cases

  • Proposals & quotes: Send a client a link instead of an attachment. They open it instantly, even on mobile.
  • Resumes: Your resume link in a job application email looks far more professional than an attachment — and you can track how many times it's been viewed (Starter plan analytics).
  • E-books & guides: Publish a lead magnet or resource guide at a permanent URL that you can update.
  • Menus & flyers: Print a QR code that links to your PDF menu or event flyer (QR codes available on Starter and above).
  • Reports: Share monthly or quarterly reports with a link you paste into Notion, Confluence, or a project management tool.

Password-protecting your PDF

On the Solo plan and above, you can add a password when uploading. Visitors are shown a password prompt before they can view the file — useful for confidential documents like contracts, financial reports, or private client deliverables.

Tracking who opened it

Starter plan and above give you built-in analytics: total visit count, and a 30-day visit history chart in your dashboard. On the Pro plan you can also enable email capture — visitors must enter their email address before the PDF opens, which lets you build a list of everyone who read your document.

File size limits

The free plan supports PDFs up to 5 MB. The Starter plan raises that to 25 MB, Solo to 75 MB, and Pro all the way to 10 GB — plenty for even the most image-heavy PDF.
